Hi! Meet Brittney, occupational therapist.

Brittney Cameron is a registered occupational therapist with nine years of experience across community, child development centre, hospital, private practice and long-term care settings. For the past three years, she has gained experience as a pediatric occupational therapist at a child development centre, providing developmental assessment and family-centred intervention for children with diverse strengths, needs, and developmental profiles. She holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology from the University of British Columbia.

In her pediatric work, Brittney collaborates with children, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to develop individualized, meaningful goals that support participation in play, self-care, learning, mobility, and everyday family routines. Her clinical experience includes sensory-motor development, mobility and gait-trainer assessment, seating and positioning, wheelchair and standing-frame assessment, and recommendations for adaptive equipment to promote safety, comfort, access, and participation.

Brittney takes a neurodiversity-affirming approach that recognizes and respects each child’s individual communication, movement, sensory and learning abilities. She brings her pediatric experience and collaborative, family-centred perspective to her current practice and team, supporting strengths-based goals that are meaningful to each child and family.

Brittney is committed to ongoing pediatric professional development, including training in neurodevelopmental theory; multiple sensory-processing and sensory-integration approaches; standing-frame and gait-trainer assessment and provision; wheelchair seating and positioning; feeding assessment and intervention through the SOS Approach to Feeding; LPT approach to autism-affirming practice and pediatric pelvic-floor treatment, including treatment for neurologically involved children.

Brittney is registered as an occupational therapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC) and listed on the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP).
