Where are you located?Our clinic is located at #1B - 457 Cliffe Avenue in Downtown Courtenay. We also have experience with and are happy to offer occupational therapy services across the province. Please note that travel is subject to availability and travel rates apply. We can also provide telehealth (online) services if that better suits your needs.

Who would benefit from OT?Many kids can benefit from occupational therapy services, including but not limited to children with: Autism spectrum disorder Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder Acquired brain injury Cerebral Palsy Down syndrome Developmental coordination disorder Learning disabilities/challenges Sensory processing disorder/challenges Developmental delays ​ We work with children of all abilities. You do not need a diagnosis or referral from a doctor to receive occupational therapy services. Many kids can benefit from extra support. If your family or child has a goal in mind, we are here to help.

What ages do you work with?We work with children ages 1-18 years old.

What does an occupational therapy session look like?Session are carefully thought out and planned by your therapist to address your child's individualized goals. Your therapist will tailor activities so that the session is fun, engaging, and the "just right" challenge to support your child's skills and confidence. ​ Sessions are typically 1-hour in length, which includes 50 minutes of direct therapy time, 5 minutes for caregiver communication, and 5 minutes of documentation. Caregivers are welcome to join in for their child's session.

What are your rates?Our rate is $150/hour, inclusive of GST. Feel free to contact us to receive an appropriate quote depending on the service you are seeking. We can direct bill At-Home Program Funding and the Autism Funding Program. Kindly let us know if you are accessing funding through another agency or organization. ​ If you have extended health care, please check your plan to see if you are covered for Occupational Therapy services. We can provide you with a receipt that can be submitted to your provider for reimbursement.

How do I get started?Step 1: Email info@communitykidsot.ca or leave a message here. ​ Step 2: Our team will reach out via email or telephone to discuss your family's needs and scheduling options. ​ Step 3: When we have a spot for your child, the intake paperwork will be sent to you to fill out. ​ Step 4: ​For billing purposes, please inform us of any funding sources you may be accessing. ​ Step 5: Let's book your first session to get started with your child's goals!
